Vikings' Barr compares himself to Leo DiCaprio after Pro Bowl snub
Minnesota Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr wasn't among the players selected for the 2016 Pro Bowl. As one of the best players on a defense that ranks eighth in the NFL in terms of points allowed per game (19.4), he says he was snubbed for the annual all-star game.
In fact, he feels a lot like his favorite actor, Leonardo DiCaprio, who has starred in several famous films but has never won an Academy Award for one of his performances.
Via Matt Vensel of the Star Tribune:
Barr was the ninth-overall pick in last year's draft, and he has since developed into one of Minnesota's most disruptive players. He's a great all-around defender with 61 tackles (51 solo), 2.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, five defended passes and an interception this season.
Although Barr is the type of player that a coach never has to take off the field, he has some trouble staying on it. He sat out the last four games of his rookie year with a knee injury and has missed the past two games after suffering back, knee, hand and groin injuries this season.
Once Barr puts together a fully healthy season, he should be a lock for the Pro Bowl.
