Vikings' Eric Kendricks admits he's 'struggling' -- at FIFA
Second-round rookie Eric Kendricks hasn't been able to claim the Minnesota Vikings' starting middle linebacker role. Kendricks says he's "struggling," according to Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press, but not on the practice field -- with a video game.
Apparently, fellow Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr has been owning his matchups with Kendricks in the popular FIFA video game series.
"He's got to keep practicing," Barr said about his virtual soccer clashes with Kendricks, per the Pioneer Press. "It's tough to beat the best."
Kendricks is actually showing progress where it counts -- on the American football field. He contributed six stops to the Vikings' winning effort over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last weekend, including a sack and two tackles for loss.
"I made a little less mistakes than the game before, but I still have a lot to work on," Kendricks said, via the Pioneer Press. "I just have to keep working. That's all I control is my work ethic and just keep improving."
As of right now, former seventh-round draft pick Audie Cole is still the Vikings' starting middle linebacker. However, it may just be a matter of time until Kendricks takes over that role.
