Vikings WR Mike Wallace: 'I've been a great pro'

Wide receiver Mike Wallace is trying to reinvent himself with the Minnesota Vikings. In 2012, his final year with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Wallace held out looking for more money. After getting it from the Miami Dolphins the following offseason, things turned sour and he was traded away.

Now with the Vikings, Wallace claims that he has always conducted himself like professional, per Matt Vensel of the Star-Tribune:

For the most part, I feel like I’ve been a great pro. Nobody hears about me getting in trouble off the field. I’ve never missed a meeting or been late for anything. I get in trouble for going off because I’m too passionate, going off too much because I want the ball. It’s never where you have to go home at night and worry about Mike. … I get a bad rep sometimes, but I feel like I’ve been a really good pro when it comes to doing my work.

Wallace, who hasn't eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards in a season since he was a Pro Bowler in 2011, was accused of quitting on his teammates in Miami.

Now with the Vikings, Wallace may be in a better situation. The speedy receiver has a proven offensive coordinator in Norv Turner and an up-and-coming quarterback in Teddy Bridgewater.

Minnesota is expecting Wallace to provide a vertical dimension to an offense that already features the NFL's best running back in Adrian Peterson.
