WATCH: Lions TE Wright speaks to Detroit media for first time
The Detroit Lions picked up a pass-catching tight end this week by trading backup kicker Kyle Brindza to the Tampa Bay Bucanneers in exchange for Tim Wright. On Tuesday, Wright spoke to the media from the Lions' locker room for the first time.

"I was very excited about the new opportunity," Wright said, per a video posted to the Lions' official Twitter account. "I've played against this team every year that I've been in the NFL. I've had some success, met some guys along the way, so I'm very happy to be on this side of the town now. Just doing whatever I can to contribute and get to the big show."
Wright, 25, has 80 receptions for 830 yards and 11 touchdowns through two NFL seasons. He joins a Lions tight end competition that already features Joseph Fauria, Brandon Pettigrew and Eric Ebron, the 10th-overall pick in last year's draft.
