WATCH: Move over J.J. Watt, Texans OL Kendall Lamm can catch, too
Last week, after Houston Texans backup offensive tackle Kendall Lamm made his debut as a blocking tight end in a win over the New Orleans Saints, Houston coach Bill O'Brien joked the team wouldn't be using the rookie in pass-catching role any time soon.
A week later, in Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills, O'Brien apparently changed his mind, and the big man came through with his first NFL reception.
With Houston trailing 7-0 in the first quarter, the 6-foot-6, 305-pound Lamm caught a play-action pass from quarterback Brian Hoyer and rumbled eight yards for a first down.
Thanks to Lamm's soft hands, the Texans continued the drive and capped it off with a touchdown to one of Lamm's fellow tight ends, Ryan Griffin.

An undrafted free agent of Appalachian State, Lamm finished the quarter with more receiving yards then teammate DeAndre Hopkins, the NFL's third-leading receiver.
