Watch Saints rookie Michael Thomas' awesome one-handed catch
New Orleans Saints rookie wideout Michael Thomas' Twitter handle is "Can't Guard Mike" (@cantguardmike). At a joint practice between the Saints and Texans on Thursday, he made good on that boast, as he's been doing throughout training camp and the preseason.
Watch this play the 6-foot-3, 212-pound receiver made along the sideline with Texans cornerback Charles James defending:
The Saints drafted Thomas in the second round back in April. During his sophomore and junior seasons at Ohio State in 2014 and 2015, Thomas caught an average 55 passes for 790 yards and nine touchdowns.
Saints head coach Sean Payton wouldn't mind if he relied more on using two hands, though, calling the Odell Beckham Jr.-style one-handed catches an "epidemic."
But Thomas, a nephew of former Pro Bowl wideout Keyshawn Johnson (and author of "Just Give Me the Damn Ball!") is keeping humble.
"Oh, you never can be comfortable in this league," Thomas said, per ESPN's Mike Triplett. "I'm still young. I still can make more plays, I feel like. Never get comfortable. I couldn't even tell you where my comfort level is at. I'm not comfortable, though."
