WATCH: Sammy Watkins erupts for 158 yards and two TDs in first half
Sammy Watkins hasn't had a great sophomore campaign for the Buffalo Bills this season, but he has showed several flashes of immense talent from his rookie year. In the first quarter of Sunday's Week 12 game against the Kansas City Chiefs, Watkins looked like the elite receiver he's expected to be.
Not only did he break out for six catches and 158 yards in the first half, but he burned the Chiefs defense on several occasions -- two of which went for touchdowns.
His first big catch of the game was a 48 yarder on a beautifully thrown ball from Tyrod Taylor down the left side.
48-yard catch in the pouring rain. Do your thing, Sammy Watkins. #BUFvsKC https://t.co/A1ns6bMcOv

His third reception went for a 28-yard touchdown, giving the Bills a 10-0 lead with 1:04 left in the opening quarter.
The Chiefs D has been great and all but sometimes Sammy Watkins happens and 28 yards later...#Touchdown. #BUFvsKC https://t.co/0xTERY8Irq

Incredibly, he wasn't done there. On the Bills' second-to-last drive of the half, Watkins caught three more passes for 68 yards. He capped it off with this 21-yard touchdown reception, beating double coverage with ease.
HE'S ON ??!! Sammy Watkins catches another TD -- this one a 21-yarder -- and simply refuses to be covered today. https://t.co/C5pkI2tTRX

He's struggled to get on the same page with Taylor, but the two looked like a dynamic-duo early in the game on Sunday. If they continue to hook up the way they have against the Chiefs, they could be dangerous for the Bills down the stretch.
