Will the Saints draft their future signal caller?
The New Orleans Saints have their starting quarterback for 2015, but at age 36, Drew Brees isn't getting any younger. Sean Payton, Mickey Loomis and the rest of the draft team are well aware of that, but the question is, will they surprise us all and go quarterback early in the upcoming NFL draft?
According to Gary Estwick from the Sun Herald, the Saints are likely to look for their quarterback of the future this coming weekend.
Estwick points out that multiple draft analysts have the Saints taking a quarterback at some point in the 2015 NFL draft.
"NFL.com's Lance Zierlein and Chad Reuter expect the Saints to take Oregon State's Sean Mannion in the fifth round (154th overall). In a more radical move, NFL's Bucky Brooks projected in his mock that the Saints would land Marcus Mariota, Oregon State's Heisman Trophy winner." says Estwick from the Sun Herald.
While the 2015 NFL draft class at quarterback may not be the deepest in recent years, it doesn't mean that New Orleans can't find a steal in the middle rounds. As for the team using an early selection at the position, that would be a bit of a shocker, to say the least.
Who could the potential fits at quarterback for New Orleans be? Well, that's where the fun really begins, as the rumors and rumblings will only heat up once the draft officially gets underway.
