Zach Ertz and Leodis McKelvin will not play in Chicago.

Two important Philadelphia Eagles players will miss out on the team’s Week 2 matchup against the Chicago Bears Monday night.

The Eagles officially announced Saturday that both tight end Zach Ertz and cornerback Leodis McKelvin will miss the team’s trip to Chicago, leaving a couple big holes in the depth chart.

This will only be the second time Ertz has missed a game since being drafted in 2013. Along with Jordan Matthews, Ertz is one of Carson Wentz‘s favorite targets. With Ertz out of the lineup, the rookie quarterback will need to spread the ball around a little more. Luckily, Trey Burton is set to make his 2016 regular season debut against Chicago, which is very exciting. Burton looked tremendous during the preseason.

McKelvin’s absence means larger roles for Ron Brooks and rookie cornerback Jalen Mills. Both Brooks and Mills spent some time playing outside corner in Week 1 after McKelvin left the game to nurse his hamstring injury. Neither of them made any big plays, but they didn’t allow any big plays either, which is just as important.

Losing Ertz and McKelvin isn’t ideal, but neither of their injuries look to be serious, which is obviously a good thing. Expect them to be back sooner rather than later.
