Arizona Coyotes' Offseason Approach Successful

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

The Arizona Coyotes offseason approach has been very successful on paper. Will it translate to on-ice success?

As the season approaches, the Arizona Coyotes are set to welcome several new faces to training camp in late September.

There are new prospects such as Jakob Chychrun and Lawson Crouse, as well as veterans Alex Goligoski and Jamie McGinn, among others.

The team has undergone changes in philosophy and personnel, and much if not all of it has been for the better.

On paper, at least.

General Manager John Chayka and Head Coach Dave Tippett must now translate their plans into action.

A lot is riding on the continued development of youngsters like Max Domi and Anthony Duclair. Even more hinges on the arrival and impact of a new crop of rookies, likely led by Dylan Strome.

In game, the Arizona Coyotes are in good hands with Tippett behind the wheel.

There are few better at his job in the NHL, and most of those who are have had much better tools to work with in their careers.

A wild card playoff berth is not outside the realm of possibility for the Yotes.

It will take a lot of things going right, but the rebuild could take a big lurch forward in 2016-17.
