Arizona Coyotes: Peter Holland Has Stellar Debut

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 7:52 p.m. ET

The Arizona Coyotes got a much needed 4-1 win in Detroit, and new acquisition Peter Holland was a big part of the success.

After a shellacking in Pittsburgh, the Arizona Coyotes bounced back with a four goal night in Detroit.

Mike Smith made 37 saves and the Yotes snagged a much needed victory.

The story of the night was the line formed around newly acquired Peter Holland, however.

Holland assisted on two goals scored by Jamie McGinn, giving the team an offensive shot in the arm that has been sorely lacking throughout the 2016-17 season.

The first McGinn goal was all because of a heads-up play by Holland that was actually quite nifty.

His past production tells us that Holland could provide solid depth scoring in the Coyotes’ bottom-six. Unfortunately for Arizona, their lack of bodies up the middle may force them to use Holland farther up in the lineup than either party is comfortable with.

For one night, however, the former Maple Leafs player made good on John Chayka’s investment.

Hopefully the McGinn/Holland/Duclair line solidifies into something reliable for head coach Dave Tippett.
