Arizona Coyotes Trim Roster; Garland, Perlini, Bunting Cut
The Arizona Coyotes announced cuts that trimmed their training camp roster to 31 players. Brendan Perlini, Conor Garland, and Michael Bunting were among the notable cuts.
With training camp in full swing and their first home preseason game in the books, the Arizona Coyotes announced a hefty amount of cuts that trimmed their training camp roster to 31.
Among the notable names that were sent down were three wingers – Brendan Perlini, Conor Garland, and Michael Bunting.
There were also a few surprises who survived the first big cut.
Dakota Mermis, the emerging Laurent Dauphin, and Stefan Fournier were names folks may not have expected to still be playing in Glendale while the likes of Perlini, Garland, and Bunting head to Tucson.

Arizona Coyotes General Manager John Chayka announced today that the Coyotes have assigned the following 15 players to the Tucson Roadrunners, the club’s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate.

The Coyotes now have 31 players remaining in training camp.
The Coyotes will play one more home preseason games on Friday, October 7 versus San Jose. The Coyotes will open their regular season on Saturday, October 15 versus the Philadelphia Flyers at Gila River Arena.

Standout prospects Dylan Strome and Christian Dvorak are still with the team, but the biggest surprise in the past few weeks might be 16th overall pick Jakob Chychrun.
Chychrun is impressing everyone with his performances, and last night was no different.
Another notable survivor is Lawson Crouse, who has to be eyeing the Tobias Rieder news with particular interest. Things might just go his way if Rieder and his agent continue to hold fast on their trade request.
Christian Fischer and Anthony DeAngelo are still on the roster as well.
For DeAngelo, in particular, this time with the Arizona Coyotes coaching staff and leadership is important. The only thing holding him back has been attitude related.
If the team can get through to him…well, he’s one to watch out for.
The Yotes square off against Vancouver on Monday where we’ll get our next chance to see the kids in action. Should be great.
