Backstrom's hit responsible for Rangers' loss of focus?

Published May. 1, 2015 11:47 a.m. ET

Nicklas Backstrom delivered a big hit on Rangers defenseman Dan Boyle late in the third period of Game 1 on Thursday night. Some thought there should have been a penalty called on the questionable hit, but there wasn't.

While the Rangers were still stewing about the no-call on the hit on Boyle, goaltender Henrik Lundqvist says they let their guard down and lost their focus for a moment. "Obviously the last few seconds there, I feel like we all just kind of stopped when Boyle went down. We lost our focus a little bit and gave up the last chance," Lundqvist told NBC Sports after the game.
