Blackhawks' Andrew Shaw apologizes for homophobic slur

The Blackhawks and Andrew Shaw have released statements about the Chicago forward's meltdown at the end of Game 4 Tuesday night, which ended with him flipping off the refs and hurling a homophobic slur from the penalty box, which was caught on video.

Meanwhile both await word from the NHL on possible punishment. The NHL revealed today it was investigating the incident.
The Blackhawks trail the St. Louis Blues 3-1 in their series after a 4-3 loss in Game 4.
