Blackhawks' Kane named NHL's first star of week
Chicago Blackhawks superstar forward Patrick Kane collected four goals and five assists en route to being named the NHL's first star of the week on Monday.
Kane scored a goal and set up another in both a 4-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings last Monday and a 6-5 overtime setback two nights later to the Central Division-rival St. Louis Blues.
The 2013 Conn Smythe Trophy winner capped his week by erupting for a four-point performance (one goal, three assists) in Chicago's 4-2 win over Edmonton on Sunday.
Kane has recorded seven goals and 10 assists during his 10-game point streak. The 26-year-old's 10 goals this season are tied with Dallas captain Jamie Benn for the league lead while his 13 assists are matched only by Stars forward Tyler Seguin.
Seguin was named the NHL's second star while Montreal Canadiens rookie goaltender Mike Condon was tabbed as the third.
