Blackhawks' Kane on Bickell blasting Byfuglien: 'That was awesome'
Chicago Blackhawks forward Bryan Bickell re-introduced himself to the lineup by barreling into former teammate Dustin Byfuglien during Sunday's game against the Central Division-rival Winnipeg Jets.
Bickell's blast on the 6-foot-5, 260-pound Byfuglien provided quite the jolt for the team, forward Patrick Kane told CSN Chicago following the Blackhawks' 3-1 win.
"That was awesome," Kane said of the first-period hit by the 6-foot-4, 223-pound Bickell, who was recalled from Rockford of the American Hockey League earlier on Sunday. "We all like Big Buff over here, but I think that's something we're missing a little bit from our team game. It kind of set the tone for the game."
Bickell was sent to the IceHogs on Nov. 2 after finishing without a point in his initial seven games of the season with the Blackhawks. The 29-year-old Ontario native inked a four-year, $16 million deal following the 2013 Stanley Cup title.

Bickell nails Byfuglien near the boards. Probably unloaded about a month's worth of frustration on that hit. #Blackhawks

Bickell just annihilated Byfuglien. I guess he was saving them up in Rockford. Big cheer for Bickell. #Blackhawks
