If the St. Louis Cardinals ever end up in a batting slump this season, they might want to call on one of their city's hockey players. St. Louis Blues winger Troy Brouwer showed off his hand-eye coordination in the first period of Monday night's 6-3 loss to the San Jose Sharks when he batted a rebound out of mid-air, sending the shot skipping past Sharks goaltender Martin Jones to give the Blues a 2-1 lead at the time.

Brouwer has been the Blues' most productive goal-scorer this postseason, netting eight goals and five assists in 19 playoff games. Those numbers are especially impressive considering he had just seven goals in 78 career postseason games ahead of this season.

But Brouwer's efforts were not enough for the Blues Monday night, as the Sharks scored three goals in the third period to break a 3-3 tie and take Game 5 from St. Louis. The Blues now face a do-or-die Game 6 in San Jose on Wednesday.
