Boston Bruins: David Pastrnak Earns 100th Career Point
Boston Bruins forward David Pastrnak earned his 100th career point as part of the B’s 4-3 win over the Vancouver Canucks.
Boston Bruins forward David Pastrnak hit a very important milestone in his NHL career. The 20-year old Czech forward hit the triple digit mark in his three-year career with the Black and Gold.

Pastrnak’s team-leading 25th goal of the season helped tip the scales in the Bruins 4-3 over the Vancouver Canucks at the TD Garden. The goal came with just two minutes left in regulation.
Pastrnak, like several other Bruins are currently riding a hot streak. In the last four games, the young forward has put up eight points (five goals) for Boston.

“I think Krech [David Krejci] got control there, so I just tried to pick up as much speed as I could and I knew he would find me there,” said Pastrnak about his goal after the game. “He passed to me wide and the D had a good gap so I just tried to cut it to the middle and throw it on net and it went in.”
Pastrnak has evenly split his 100 points between goals and assists. He’s currently enjoying his strongest season to date, putting up 47 points (25 goals) this season. That puts him comfortably in second among the Bruins for scoring.
The young forward has found his place on the Bruins special teams unit. 20 of his 47 points have come while the Bruins are on the power play. Pastrnak is turning into one of the teams’ most reliable snipers, with a 14% shot success rate. (His career percentage is 13.2%.)
Bruce Cassidy has been tweaking the Bruins lines since taking over on last Tuesday. Pastrnak has been an important part of Cassidy’s reorganization of the B’s forward lines. He’s currently the right wing of the Bruins second line, centered by David Krejci.
For once, Pastrnak wasn’t the young man on the line. Pastrnak’s fellow winger, Peter Cehlarik , made his NHL debut in the B’s important win over their 2011 foes. The young Bruins wingers helped the second line put up three points Saturday afternoon.
Pastrnak is easily on track for his first 50-plus season. A 60-point season is certainly in the cards as well. He might even be able to dig down deep and pull off an outstanding 70-point plus season by the end of the regular season in April.
