Bruins' Beleskey purchased 400 pies, delivered to area shelters for Thanksgiving

Matt Beleskey showed his holiday spirit (and perhaps revealed a bit of a sweet tooth) on Thursday, when the Boston Bruins forward purchased and hand-delivered 400 pies to area shelters and charities Thanksgiving morning.

Beleskey's gesture continued the Bruins' Thanksgiving tradition, as Gregory Campbell did the same last season (Campbell has since signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets).

The 27-year-old Beleskey made a special visit to Pine Street Inn, which serves more than 9,000 homeless people every year, Boston CBS Local reported. He also made trips to St. Francis House, Rosie's Place, Home for Little Wanderers and Family Aid Boston.

"We went to a family shelter in Dorchester and there were a lot of young kids who were excited - hopefully some new Bruins fans," Beleskey told Boston CBS Local.

While the pies came from Mike's Pastry in Boston's North End, it appears the smiles on the faces of those who were touched by Beleskey's generosity came from the heart.
