Buffalo's Evander Kane reaches out to young fan ahead of her surgery (VIDEO)
If anyone needs convincing that Buffalo Sabres forward Evander Kane is a good person, his recent gesture toward a teenage fan who is about to undergo surgery for cancer is plenty of proof of Kane's kind heart.
A girl named Jena reached out to Kane about her friend Kylee, a young hockey player and Sabres fan who is about to travel to New York City for surgery as part of her cancer treatment, and Kane responded with a heartfelt letter and a package of goodies to lift Kylee's spirits.
Check it out:
Kane has received plenty of negative attention in the past, as he reportedly got into a disagreement with his former teammates in Winnipeg ahead of a trade last February to Buffalo, but his generosity toward Kylee shows that there is more to a person than just their reputation.
Thank you @evanderkane_9 for making Kylees last day in buffalo for a while a good one ?@ky10288 pic.twitter.com/pGrwag2b7J
