Calgary Flames G Chad Johnson Continues To Shine
Chad Johnson has now won three games in a row and five of his last six. He continues to shine as the Calgary Flames are now 3-1-0 on their longest road trip of the season.
Chad Johnson continues to prove himself as the Calgary Flames more consistent net-minder this season. He has now won three in a row and five of his last six, two of them being shutouts. He continues to shine with a 2-1 win over the Boston Bruins and a 35 save performance. His shutout streak unfortunately came to an end at the 117:56 minute mark with David Pastrnak‘s third period goal. But we still love him.
In an unsuspecting turn of events, Johnson has risen to the top as the Flames go-to guy between the pipes over Brian Elliott. Of course, we still love Moose and I know he’s going to get back into the swing of things, but right now, Johnson is definitely the more consistent player.
In the month of November, he is 6-2-0 and has two shutouts, tied for a personal career high of shutouts in one season. His record so far for this month is the fourth best in the month out of all goaltenders who have played at least five games. He’s also 8th for save percentage for the month (of goalies who have played at least five games) with 0.939 and has a GAA of 1.63, which is fifth.
In his eight games in November, he has allowed more than one goal four times and has only allowed more than 2 goals twice. In his last two games, he has only allowed one goal on 70 shots which gives him a 0.986 sv%. If he doesn’t get a star of this week I’m suing the entire NHL. Kidding, but you know, he deserves it. I mean, just look at that toe save from tonight’s game:

Just this week alone out of goalies who have played at least two games, he’s second for GAA and SV%. I mean, he HAS played one more game than Martin Jones who leads in both those categories. So who knows what would have happened if Jones started tonight. His GAA for the week is 1.00 and his SV% is 0.968. Honestly, what an incredible human being. We love Chad Johnson with our hearts. Our Twitter during the last two games proves it:

Pretty sure we are his biggest fans. The presidents of the Chad Johnson fan club.
Well, that’s all about the wonderful and talented Mr. Chad Johnson for now. And don’t worry, if he doesn’t win a star of the week, he’ll always be a star in our hearts.
