Carcillo: '(I'm) 98 percent ready to move on'

Daniel Carcillo is admittedly inching closer to retirement.

The unrestricted free-agent forward told CSN Chicago's Kap & Haugh that he is "about 98 percent ready to move on." The agitator added that "30 is a good age for me to get out and do some other things."

A concussion limited Carcillo to just 39 games with the Chicago Blackhawks last season. He did not suit up in the playoffs as the team went on to win its third Stanley Cup title in six years by besting the Tampa Bay Lightning in six games.

Carcillo has made no secret of his future plans, as he told reporters that he is devoting his time to assisting NHLers make the transition after their hockey-playing careers are over. He formed a not-for-profit organization called Chapter 5, and also set up meet-and-greet where money can be raised to fund the charity during his day with the Stanley Cup on Sunday.

A two-time Stanley Cup champion, Carcillo recorded 48 goals and 52 assists in 429 career games with the then-Phoenix Coyotes, Philadelphia Flyers, New York Rangers, Los Angeles Kings and Blackhawks.
