The Carolina Hurricanes will start on ice sessions this Friday, September, 23. Training Camp will feature the annual Caniac Carnival on September, 25 with the Red-White scrimmage.

Training camp practices are open to the general public with the exception of three dates. October 1st, October 2nd, and October 8th practices will be closed and October 9th will be a season ticket holder only event.

The team will be split into two separate groups, which culminates into the final scrimmage during the Caniac Festival. After the festival the practice groups will be split into the game players and the non game players. These groups will change based on each game and who the coaches are giving ice time to.

This year’s Training camp is more condensed due to the World Cup of Hockey. Sebastian Aho and Teuvo Teravainen will be leaving from the World Cup of Hockey and going right into camp with the Carolina Hurricanes.

They are not the only players that are busy. The Carolina Hurricanes prospects will just have a day to rest.  Fresh off of their great showing at the Traverse City Prospects tournament in Michigan, the team has just one day to rest.

The Carolina Hurricanes have the full training camp schedule including what practices are open and closed to the general public. The long wait for Carolina Hurricanes hockey is over on Friday!

Games are Just Around the Corner

The preseason starts September 27th as the team travels to Washington, DC to take on the Capitals. The schedule also features two neutral site games on October 4th and 5th in Marquette Michigan and Sault. Ste. Marie, Ontario. Both games are against the Buffalo Sabres.

The Carolina Hurricanes open up the PNC Center on September 30th against the Tampa Bay Lightening. Their second of two home games will come on October 7th against the Washington Capitals.

We are less than a month away from regular season NHL hockey. The Canes open the regular season on October 13th against the Winnepeg Jets. The Carolina Hurricanes won’t return home until Saturday, October 28th against the New York Rangers.
