Carolina Hurricanes: The Weekly Links To Get You To Game Time
Another round of Carolina Hurricanes links our editors gathered for your enjoyment.
The Carolina Hurricanes won their first home opener in eight years. The team finally has a truly elite offensive threat in what feels like forever. The Hurricanes are even getting some love from the #fancystats crew as well. (On a side note it seems both the old schoolers and analytics crowd finally agree on something: Carolina’s goaltending is bad.)
Good CF%. Strong scoring chances share. Good xGF%. Lots of skaters in the good quadrant.

What a difference just one win makes to the team’s outlook. Before the Rangers, everybody was yelling at Ron Francis to go trade for a goalie. Now people are planning the Stanley Cup Parad route. Well maybe it hasn’t gotten that far yet, but the #Canes fans are definitely a little peppier these days. Compared to early this week after the brutal loss to the Red Wings fans outlook is like night and day.
