This week’s Chicago Blackhawks Eye on the Enemy focuses on tonight’s opponent, the New York Islanders
The Chicago Blackhawks will venture to Brooklyn tonight to take on the New York Islanders. This will be Chicago’s second game in New York this week and its first meeting with the Islanders this season.
The Blackhawks defeated the New York Rangers in a classic, 2-1 on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden. The game-winning goal was scored Artem Anisimov.
Despite all the injuries, the Blackhawks’ depth appears to be keeping them afloat while the Islanders’ lack of depth appears to be dooming them. Scott Darling has emerged as a bright spot for the Blackhawks, although there will not be a goalie controversy in Chicago. The Islanders have a different story in their net with Thomas Greiss and Jaroslav Halak.
The Blackhawks all-time are 47-39-20 against the Islanders heading into tonight’s game. While the Blackhawks lead the Central Division, the Islanders are currently in last in the Metropolitan Division. To get a better perspective on the Islanders, we reached out to another FanSided site for some in-depth information on the Blackhawks’ next opponent.

This week’s Eye on the Enemy will be talking with the editor of the Eye on the Isles, Matt O’Leary
We asked Matt some questions on the Islanders’ season. We started off with the hard-hitting stuff:
More from Blackhawk Up
Any trade ideas for the Islanders?
The Islanders definitely have to make a trade in order to improve this team, and they have the depth to do it. They’ve got forward prospects like Mathew Barzal, Joshua Ho Sang and Michael Dal Colle that could be intriguing to teams. Plus due to their goalie situation Jaroslav Halak should be a movable asset. If it’s possible to target James Van Riemsdyk, Jeff Skinner or maybe even Max Pacioretty the Islanders should give whatever it takes to bring a scorer like that in.
Should Garth Snow and Jack Capuano make it through this season?
