The Chicago Blackhawks are now up to 15 straight successful penalty kills, and if you haven’t noticed it which is totally plausible with the Chicago Cubs first World Series win since 1908, the Hawks are on a 5 game winning streak largely in part to better special teams play.

The powerplay has also chipped in some timely goals like Patrick Kane‘s go ahead goal last night after a disrupted play and nice pass from Artem Anisimov.  Both Kane and Anisimov top the NHL in points which doesn’t seem possible after the first few games when every time the Hawks PK went on the ice it was giving up goals.
