Chris Kreider still isn't getting along well with the Montreal Canadiens
Anyone who is wondering whether there is still any bad blood between Chris Kreider and Carey Price got their answer in the third period of Thursday night's game between the Rangers and the Canadiens. Kreider was making the routine circle behind the Montreal net when Price took advantage of the opportunity to lay the forward out with a hit behind the net, then stared down Kreider until the 24-year-old picked himself up.
The two don't exactly have a friendly history, as Kreider infamously knocked Price out of the 2014 playoffs after a collision in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals that year. Montreal fans remember that hit as well, as they cheered wildly Thursday when Price dropped Kreider.
Kreider did not seem too upset about the hit after Thursday's game.
"I was laughing," Kreider told reporters of the hit. "He turned into it. I did my best not to make it a big collision because I know I am getting called for that if he goes down. I tried to take the brunt of it and got back up ice and the refs and I were kind of laughing about it."
Price played coy on the hit after the game.
