Coyotes prospect scores goal with opponent's stick after his own was stolen
If you believe in karma, you might enjoy this fun little sequence from Tuesday night's OHL contest between the Erie Otters and the London Knights.
During the third period, Otters captain Dylan Strome -- the Arizona Coyotes prospect that was drafted third overall in 2015 -- in engaged in an offensive zone battle with Knights defenseman Brandon Crawley. Strome knocked Crawley's stick to the ice, so the defender responded by ripping Strome's lumber right out of his hands.
Much to Strome's dismay, the officials missed the theft and play continued. Eventually, the Otters center decided his best course of action would be to retriever Crawley's stick and use it as his own until the next stoppage. That turned out to be a good decision, as the next stoppage came just seconds later when Strome sniped home a goal with his opponent's twig.
To add a bit of emphasis to the revenge, Strome celebrated by holding Crawley's stick up in the air as high as he could as he stared down the Knights player. Eventually, the two cordially gave their sticks back to the original owner, though I think you could make the case that Strome earned the right to keep Crawley's.
