Crosby, Penguins enjoy fun in the sun while playing beach volleyball (VIDEO)
Like the flightless birds who share their name, the Pittsburgh Penguins found their desired destination - the beach - prior to opening their four-game road trip in sunny California.
Captain Sidney Crosby and company did their best to give beach volleyball a try, as shown in a video provided by the team's website. The slow-motion footage perhaps leaves some of the viewers wondering if they were watching an altered version of "Baywatch" - or at least tryouts for the Summer Olympics.

While Crosby seemed to take it all in behind his sunglasses, fellow forward Patric Hornqvist appeared to be more involved in the contest.
Perhaps the fancy footwork on the beach helped the Penguins on the ice as Pittsburgh opened its trek with a decisive 5-1 rout of the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday.
