David Pastrnak scores gorgeous overtime winner (Video)
David Pastrnak finished off an incredible deke with his 15th goal of the season to beat the Florida Panthers in overtime.
If you’ve never heard of David Pastrnak before, now would be a great time to get him on your radar. The 20-year-old forward, who’s earned the endearing nickname of “Pasta” by Boston Bruins fans, is winning the rest of the league over with his superb play. Even though he’s already been in the NHL for two seasons, he’s on the verge of a breakout campaign.
Against the Florida Panthers, he showcased his tremendous skill. After the Panthers tied it at three in the last minute to send the contest to overtime, Pastrnak dealt the finishing blow.
Once he received the pass from David Krejci, he turned on the jets. The only thing standing in his way to the net was Michael Matheson, and he deked the jockstrap off of him. Then he lifted it up and over Roberto Luongo to score a memorable overtime winner, and give the Bruins an important win:

But speaking of Krejci, his behind-the-back pass that set up this goal shouldn’t get overlooked. He’s now at 11 assists on the year, yet he never gets the credit he deserves for being one of the best playmakers in the league. But perhaps that’s because he spends a lot of time in Bergeron’s shadow.
Beating a divisional rival always feels good, but it’s better when you can do it in style like this. The Bruins now have their third win in a row, which should give them the confidence that they can give the Montreal Canadiens a run for their money at the Atlantic Division crown.
