The Edmonton Oilers still have some moves to make before they make a full-fledged postseason run. One of their trade targets could be Dallas Stars winger Patrick Eaves, one of the top names on the market per TSN.
Before the Oilers can really move on as a winning team, they need a top-six right winger. Jordan Eberle is not living up to expectations, and the team lacks a high-scoring winger to work with their top-six centres. Therefore, Eaves would be the perfect fit.

The 32-year-old has 19 goals and 33 points in 53 games this season. Not only can he find the back of the net, but he possesses a solid frame (6-foot, 200 pounds) and physicality. He can play a solid two-way game and boasts a 4.9 relative Fenwick. With him, the Oilers could not only acquire a top-six winger but a solid penalty-killer and two-way forward.
Eaves has a great vision for the ice and possesses solid skating ability. He can make plays and finish them and would work well on that top line or even the second line. Not to mention, he can predict what is going to happen and has great awareness at both ends of the rink.
The only issues with Eaves are that he turns over the puck from time to time and is prone to injury. This hurts his value, but in the end, he is a quality player and a veteran who can serve as a leader and bring a lot to the lineup.
Overall, this would be an excellent trade for the Oilers. In order to get him, however, the Stars may be targeting defence and some more scoring to strengthen their forward lines.
