Enforcer Kaleta rediscovers love of Legos

Former Buffalo Sabres enforcer Patrick Kaleta's aggressive style on the ice often leads to many an injury - and plenty of time on his hands to recover.

While on the mend, the 29-year-old Kaleta soon rediscovered his love for Legos as a means to keep his mind sharp while doing wonders for his hands.

"Right around the 2010 World Cup, I heard soccer star David Beckham was doing the Taj Mahal Lego set," Kaleta told SI Kids. "I had broken my hand, and I figured if David Beckham can do it, there's gotta be something to it. I started off just goofing around, and ultimately it turned into a whole room in my house dedicated to Legos.

"I'm not a person who can sit down and relax. At first I was curious, and it ended up being pretty good therapy for my hands, just rehabbing after breaks and surgeries."

Kaleta has constructed a wide array of projects, ranging from his favorite (the Taj Mahal) to R2-D2 of Star Wars fame.
