Esiason: Islanders chant 'like nails on a chalkboard'

Professional wrestler Daniel Bryan's signature "Yes!" chant has sent fans into a frenzy in both the grappling world and New York Islanders' home games.

While the energetic show of appreciation has been embraced by both groups, Boomer Esiason is not among those enamored with the repetitive one-word salute.

"I happen to be a Rangers fan," Esiason told the former WWE champion when he appeared on the WFAN's "Boomer and Carton" show this past week. "I don't mind you doing it, but when the Islanders fans do it after they score a goal, it’s just like nails on a chalkboard."

Bryan, who admitted that he wasn't a fan of hockey, is aware of the chant and noted that he is open to appearing at Barclays Center when the Islanders begin the 2015-16 season on Oct. 9. The wrestler was on the show to promote his new book, "Yes! My Improbable Journey to the Main Event of WrestleMania."
