Fight breaks out after Senators player is injured by teammate in camp
Training camp for the Ottawa Senators is not off to a great start. On Sunday, veteran Sens forward Clarke MacArthur needed help getting off the ice following a high hit from teammate Patrick Sieloff during action in camp.
The 31-year-old MacArthur, a key member of the Sens' offensive unit, missed most of last season after suffering a concussion in October, his second in less than a year. Following the hit, he appeared very groggy and had to be guided to the locker room with the help of teammates and medical personnel. With that in mind, Sieloff's check was extremely concerning to those within the club.
The hit sparked anger from teammates, as Bobby Ryan immediately engaged Sieloff in a brief fight on the ice. Chris Neil and Derick Brassard reportedly told Sieloff to leave practice following the incident.
Sieloff was acquired by Ottawa this offseason in a trade with the Calgary Flames. It's fair to say this isn't exactly a great early impression with his new team.
Neil and Brassard now go after Sieloff. Shean Donovan asked Sieloff to leave the bench. Tensions are running high. #Sens
