Flames' Bennett enjoying sweet run after 18-game goal drought
Bob Hartley has always had a way with words, so perhaps it's no surprise that the Calgary Flames coach had a sweet take when asked about rookie Sam Bennett's recent hot streak.
Bennett broke out of his 18-game goal drought by tallying six times in the last three games en route to being named the NHL's Second Star of the Week on Monday. The 19-year-old Ontario native highlighted the impressive run with a four-goal performance in Wednesday's 6-0 rout of the Florida Panthers, with Hartley enjoying the fruits of his labor.

"He's a kid and he found the candy bag. He got one, got four and right now he's digging in."
With his performance versus the Panthers, Bennett became the third youngest player in league history to record a four-goal performance and the first Calgary player to do so since Jarome Iginla on Feb. 23, 2003. The fourth overall pick of the 2014 draft, Bennett also scored in the Flames' 2-1 shootout loss at the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday for his 20th point (11 goals, nine assists) in 42 contests this season.

Bennett is coming off an impressive campaign with the Ontario Hockey League's Kingston Frontenacs, with whom he scored 36 goals and set up 57 others in 57 games last season. He then hit the ground running in the playoffs last spring, recording three goals during the Calgary's sprint to the second round.
Bennett looks to continue his hot stretch on Tuesday when the Flames (20-20-3) play the second contest of their five-game road trip against the New Jersey Devils (22-19-5).
