Flames' Bollig 'got scared' to fight former teammate Toews
Calgary Flames forward Brandon Bollig opted against fighting former teammate and current Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews earlier in the week.
In fact, Bollig "got scared" by his own admission.
During Sunday's game, Bollig initially attempted to goad Toews to drop the gloves. The 28-year-old Bollig has been in plenty of NHL fights, but didn't wish to ruin his reputation should he have lost the battle "to one of the best players in the league," according to CSN Chicago's Tracey Myers.
For the record, Toews has won two of five NHL fights, according to HockeyFights.com.
After dropping a 4-1 decision on Sunday, Bollig and the Flames will have a chance to save face on Friday when the clubs meet in Calgary.
