Flyers' Giroux, others showcase skills in 'NHL After Dark' trailer
Claude Giroux can stickhandle his way past a defender with the best of them, but the Philadelphia Flyers captain is capable of so much more.
For example, Giroux recently weaved his way around a bevy of pucks and a milk crate before using his fancy footwork to navigate around a hockey stick for good measure. The 28-year-old Giroux demonstrated these skills and more in this 'NHL After Dark' trailer released by the league and NHLPA, which announced a renewal of its partnership with GoPro, Inc. on Tuesday.
Former player Mathieu Schneider and current NHLPA special assistant to the executive director told NHL.com that the GoPro's 11-part series will provide the viewer a different look at the fast-paced action of the league. Via NHL.com:
"The speed and skill of the players in the NHL has never been better than it is today. Our continued partnership with GoPro provides hockey fans a unique look and perspective into the incredible talent that our athletes possess."
Giroux will not be the only NHL star to be featured every Wednesday in the weekly series. Detroit Red Wings forward Tomas Tatar kicks off the debut episode on Feb. 3 by demonstrating his dandy stickhandling ability.

Giroux and Tatar will join Vancouver Canucks forwards Daniel and Henrik Sedin as well as Pittsburgh Penguins star Evgeni Malkin in having multiple sessions in the series.
Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog, Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith and New Jersey Devils goaltender Cory Schneider will also appear in one episode apiece.
