Flyers' Giroux scores right off draw vs. Sharks (VIDEO)
Philadelphia Flyers captain Claude Giroux snapped a five-game point drought in creative fashion on Wednesday.
With San Jose Sharks veteran Joe Thornton in the faceoff circle, Giroux deftly swatted a shot on net to surprise Martin Jones late in the second period. The puck trickled off Jones' chest and between his pads before squirting across the line to tie the game.

Giroux's goal was his team-leading 12th and first since tallying in back-to-back contests on Dec. 8 and 10. The 27-year-old's heroics on Wednesday weren't enough as the Flyers suffered their third loss in four games with a 4-2 setback to San Jose.
Philadelphia (15-14-7) will try to salvage the finale of three-game road trip against Pacific Division-leading Los Angeles on Saturday.
"It's funny because me and a couple of the guys were actually practicing this the last practice, but I didn’t think I was going to try it."
