Flyers' Mason unveils new mask featuring bulldog George, non-zombie players

Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Steve Mason paid homage to his teammates with a new mask, although the players won't appear in zombie-form this time around.

Known for his imaginative masks, Mason unveiled his newest one prior to Thursday's 6-3 win over the Nashville Predators - complete with captain Claude Giroux, Wayne Simmonds and Jakub Voracek looking pretty much like they do in everyday life.

Now, there is one other likeness of a living creature pictured on the top of the mask - and he has yet to suit up for the Flyers.

So, who occupies the top spot? Well, George ... who is Mason's pet bulldog.

Philadelphia (23-18-8) will need the 27-year-old Mason (12-12-6) to play like a bulldog if it is going to continue its push for the postseason.

The Flyers have won three straight and are 8-3-1 in their last 12, but reside on the outside of the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference.
