Former Buffalo goalie Enroth: 'The goal was to come last'
If Buffalo was trying to publicly hide its desire to tank this season for a high draft pick, the Sabres probably should have let former goalie Jhonas Enroth in on the confidentiality agreement. The netminder spoke with a Swedish website recently about his trade from the Sabres to the Stars and let the website in on Buffalo's not-so-secret mission.
"They had only one goal…The goal was to come last," Enroth said according to a Google translation of the Swedish website. "I was not too happy with it [the trade] when it happened, but when I look back on it now, I'm very happy that I was traded."
Enroth played in 13 games with the Stars and went 5-5 with a .906 save percentage. The goalie played in 37 games with the Sabres and was 13-21-2 with a .903 save percentage. Enroth will be a free agent this summer.
