Holtby leaves Capitals' game vs. Rangers with dehydration

WASHINGTON (AP) Washington Capitals goaltender Braden Holtby left a game Sunday against the New York Rangers with dehydration.

Fourteen seconds after giving up a goal to Rangers forward Chris Kreider, Holtby skated to the bench and had a long conversation with trainer Greg Smith. Philipp Grubauer entered the game with 2:18 left in the second period.

Holtby was starting for the second straight day after giving up three goals and getting pulled in the second period of a loss at Buffalo. Coach Barry Trotz said he went back to Holtby against New York because his starting goalie didn't get enough work against Buffalo.

Holtby stopped 20 of the 22 shots he faced before departing. The 26-year-old entered with a 1.97 goals-against average, .932 save percentage and leads the NHL with 28 wins.
