Hurricanes PA man scores in alumni game, announces name to crowd
Carolina Hurricanes public address announcer Wade Minter is used to bellowing out the name of the goal scorer - it's part of his job. On Sunday, Minter echoed a familiar name - his own - after he scored in the team's alumni game.
With his Team White trailing 4-2, Minter redirected a feed from former Carolina defenseman Glen Wesley into the net and promptly raised his stick in the air to celebrate. Struggling to catch his breath, Minter skated over to the announcing booth and told the crowd at PNC Arena the name of the man who scored the goal.

"It's a little weird and I'm kind of ridiculous, but I figured as the PA announcer of the 'Canes, it would go over all right."
Despite his scoring display, Minter would skate away with the loss in his first alumni game as Team White dropped an 11-8 decision to Team Red.
The contest featured Wesley, Rod Brind'Amour, Doug Weight, Ray Whitney, Erik Cole, Mike Commodore, Kevyn Adams and Bret Hedican as the Hurricanes celebrated the 10-year anniversary of the franchise capturing its lone Stanley Cup.
