Islanders' Grabovski to alter his game after concussions
New York Islanders center Mikhail Grabovski believes he needs to be more alert on the ice after missing 31 games last season due to a pair of concussions.
"It's not a lot of space out there any more, so I need to change my game a little," Grabovski told Arthur Staple of Newsday. "You get older, you get smarter, right?"
Grabovski missed the final 23 contests of the regular season before being activated for Game 5 of New York's first-round series with the Washington Capitals. The 31-year-old did not record a point in any of the three playoff contests as the Islanders fell in the spirited seven-game set to their Metropolitan Division rival.
Grabovski collected nine goals and 10 assists in 51 contests for New York last season. He has 116 tallies and 155 assists in 476 career games with the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Capitals and Islanders.
