Islanders' Okposo gets creative with nifty shootout goal (VIDEO)
Kyle Okposo's shootout goal on Tuesday certainly is a sight to see.
After the Philadelphia Flyers missed their first two opportunities in the bonus format, the New York Islanders forward began to skate in on goaltender Michal Neuvirth. Okposo slowed as he closed in and deftly tucked the puck behind him and dragged it near his right skate before wristing a shot under the crossbar.
Neuvirth had already gone to the ice prior to Okposo's shot, which ultimately gave the Islanders a 4-3 victory. New York improved to 6-0-2 in its last eight games, with three wins coming in a shootout in the last four.
Despite Tuesday's win and New York's solid run of late, Okposo told reporters that the team needs to play better.
"We're going to have to be better than that to win every night in this league, and we know that," Okposo said.
