Islanders' Strome looks for better results on heels of recent demotion
The New York Islanders are prepared to see what forward Ryan Strome brings to the table after his three-week stay in the American Hockey League.
The Islanders recalled the former first-round selection from Bridgeport of the AHL on Thursday after demoting him to the Sound Tigers on Nov. 6. Strome collected two goals and as many assists in eight games with Bridgeport.
"It's not that you’re negative, but it’s frustrating," Strome told the Connecticut Post last week. "I came back a bit shell-shocked."
Strome joined the Islanders in the Sunshine State and is expected to be in the lineup for Friday's game against the Florida Panthers.
The 22-year-old scored one goal and set up four others in 12 contests with New York prior to being sent to Bridgeport. The fifth overall pick of the 2011 draft, Strome has recorded 25 goals and 48 assists in 130 career games.
