John Gibson will travel with Ducks to Calgary
The Ducks are about to get even better.
John Gibson, who played as Frederik Andersen's backup for the regular season, is traveling to Calgary after working out with the team in an optional practice on Friday.
Gibson appears to finally be over the flu, which has kept him out of the playoffs so far this season.
Andersen has been playing fantastic hockey during the playoffs, with a 1.64 goals against average and a .942 save percentage. Gibson will almost certainly play the backup role, but he's not a bad option for the Ducks to have should something happen to Andersen.
The 21-year-old Gibson played in 23 games during the regular season, recording a .914 save percentage and a 2.60 goals against average. Gibson also has playoff experience, playing in four games last season, recording two wins an a .919 save percentage.
