Kuznetov has goal and assist as Capitals beat Bruins 3-2

BOSTON (AP) Evgeny Kuznetsov had a goal and an assist and the Washington Capitals stopped their only losing streak of the season at two games with a 3-2 win over the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night.

Andre Burakovsky and Marcus Johansson also scored for the Capitals, who beat the Bruins for the fourth straight time.

Braden Holtby faced only 14 shots through the first two periods and finished with 29 saves for Washington.

Washington captain Alex Ovechkin had just two shots and remained at 496 career goals.

Patrice Bergeron had a goal and assist and Loui Eriksson also scored for Boston.

Tuukka Rask made 26 saves for the Bruins, who remained one win shy of their 3,000th regular-season victory in franchise history.

The Capitals were coming off a 5-4 shootout loss in Columbus on Saturday, two nights after a 4-2 loss at Carolina. It was the first time the Capitals lost back-to-back games this season.
