Los Angeles Kings and NHL Reveal 2017 All-Star Logo
The NHL and Los Angeles Kings have revealed the logo for the 2017 NHL All-Star Game set to be hosted at STAPLES Center, Los Angeles in late January 2017.
The logo reveal occurred in a joint press release by the Los Angeles Kings and National Hockey League. The team will don the logo as a left shoulder patch on the new home jersey throughout the upcoming season also.

Per the press release, the design needed to incorporate relevant elements of the Los Angeles Kings and the city itself:
The trendy urban “LA” features the Kings’ trademark colors of black, gray and white. In addition, the gold and jeweled typography of the “LA” is a nod to the glitz and glamour of the city, which is home to the stars of Hollywood and host to many major awards shows, including the Academy Awards, the Emmy Awards and Grammy Awards. The three points of the star in the logo signifies the third time Los Angeles has hosted NHL® All-Star weekend (1981, 2002, 2017). The four stars represents each NHL Division.
I like the logo; it’s simply and effective whilst also seeming very relevant to Hollywood’s glitz and glamour. I wouldn’t quite put it on par with last year’s Nashville guitar pick but it still ‘pops’ enough.

Perhaps the better question, disregarding any logo discussion is whether the All-Star Game will have a Hollywood story-line like last year.
That, alone, made the All-Star Game must-see viewing!
These questions haven’t been answered yet, of course, with the All-Star Game half a season away. In the meantime though, we have a nice logo to look at!
