Maple Leafs' Kadri makes throat-slash gesture toward Flames' Giordano
Nazem Kadri could find himself in hot water with the NHL after the Toronto Maple Leafs forward demonstrated a throat-slash gesture toward Calgary Flames captain Mark Giordano during Tuesday's game.
Kadri was on the receiving end of a hard open-ice hit from Giordano in the first period of the Flames' 4-3 win over the Maple Leafs. Kadri retreated to the bench and slammed the door before locking eyes with Giordano and making the gesture.

While Kadri told reporters that he was dazed from the hit and doesn't remember making the throat-slash gesture, Giordano was pretty clear with his thoughts on the matter. Via CalgaryFlames.com:
"I think it's pretty stupid on his part to make that gesture, but whatever, we'll see what the league does with it."
Tuesday's incident was caught on camera and TSN's Darren Dreger reported that the league is taking a closer look at the incident.
May end up being nothing, however Colin Campbell and NHL Hockey ops are reviewing this Kadri gesture. https://t.co/2Pu9ih3dzE

The gesture isn't a foreign one to the 25-year-old Kadri, who was disciplined after making a similar motion while playing for Canada during a 2010 World Junior Championship game.
The NHL issued a one-game suspension to then-Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Nick Boynton in 2010 for making a throat-slash gesture following a fight with Tampa Bay Lightning forward Blair Jones during a preseason contest. Boynton was suspended due to being a two-time offender.
