Nashville Predators social media highlights for the week of September 12th with an additional look around the league.

Nashville Predators news rocked fans this week with an announcement regarding a permanent addition to the Predators uniforms. Some loved it, some hated it, some just said “meh.” Regardless of the feelings surrounding the decision, it’s here to stay.

The Predators seem to have the Midas Touch this coming season as everything they touch appears to be turning gold. Well not everything, just their helmets. Originally used for “Golden Saturdays,” the Preds’ 2016 uniforms will official have them looking more and more like Lemonheads.

The Preds prospects headed to sunny Florida to test their skills against the likes of the rookies from the Panthers, Lightning, and Capitals. So far the Preds rooks have had a tough go so far losing 6-3 and 4-1. Perennial Predators roster-spot hunter Kevin Fiala tallied a goal with hopes to make the team this year

The  Predators have taken their successes to new heights over the last couple of years and that means more people are interested in watching hockey. All of the Preds games will be broadcast locally with two being broadcast nationally. However, it feels like the Preds probably should have gotten more than two.

While the World Cup of Hockey officially started recently, story lines have been building well before the actual start. In a  pre-tournament exhibition match, USA forward Ryan Kesler launched former Preds captain Shea Weber into the boards setting the tone for the rematch. Jonathan Toews expects a good one.

Everyone knows that Alex Ovechkin is a phenomenal hockey player. He’s fast, precise, and certainly powerful. With the amount of power behind a slap shot, it’s no wonder why sticks are constantly snapping. The bend Ovechkin’s stick gives David Beckham a run for his money.

With the recent addition of permanent gold helmets for the Preds, the only thing left to do is paint the ice gold. We know that’s not going to happen, so all we can do is sit back, relax, and countdown the days until the golden takeover.
